Palm Beach Gardens, FL – Battling some of the toughest conditions he has faced in competition, 14-year-old Dylan Schilling showcased his grit and talent at the Under Armour Junior Tour event at PGA National, surging up the leaderboard on the final day to secure a T-9 finish.

The two-day tournament, hosted by Under Armour—one of the fastest-growing junior golf tours in the U.S.—tested players with major championship-level conditions. Saturday’s opening round was held on the famed Champions Course, just weeks before the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic. The course played brutally difficult, featuring thick rough, slick greens, and steady 20 mph winds. Schilling battled through the challenge, carding an 81 in what proved to be a survival test for the entire field.

Looking to rebound, Schilling took to the Palmer Course on Sunday, where the setup was slightly more forgiving, though 15 mph winds continued to make shot control a premium. He responded with a stellar round, opening with seven consecutive pars before electrifying the course with a hole-out eagle on the par-4 8th. A few mid-round bogeys tested his momentum, but Schilling showed resilience, playing his final six holes at one under to post a 72—one of the best rounds of the day.

His strong Sunday performance propelled him 19 spots up the leaderboard, finishing T-9 overall—a testament to his ability to handle pressure and adapt to challenging conditions.

“It was a grind out there, especially on the Champions Course,” Schilling said. “The wind was tough both days, but I stayed patient, and that eagle on eight really gave me a boost. I’m proud of how I finished.”

Schilling’s performance at PGA National, a course that will soon host some of the world’s best players, further cements his reputation as one of South Florida’s rising junior golf stars. With each event, he continues to sharpen his game, setting his sights on even bigger goals, including competing in his first USGA Junior Amateur.

With talent, perseverance, and a strong competitive drive, Schilling’s climb up the leaderboard this weekend may be just a preview of what’s to come.
